BACKGROUND: Founded solely by Fareeq late '99. The first line up included members of the Kepong scene, namely Private Whizz & Meat Grinder. This line up went on for a while & managed to record a live jam demo, one of the songs entitled 'Straight To The Point' was heavily downloaded from SoundBuzz.com, which the band regarded as their first real accomplishment.
The members of the two respected bands later decided to focus on their own material, which leaves Fareeq & Shaufiq looking for new band members. Dennis, who was in the same faculty as Fareeq, joined the band in 2000. JR, formerly played bass for the band Stone Angelina, completed the 4-piece line up. The band was considered active throughout 2000, playing gigs anywhere that was possible such as at Colors Damansara, Artiste Club, La Viva Carnival, MCities & etc. By 2001, X-cited Screamers was featured in Remedy Anthems: From Friends For Friends compilation under the Hail Friends Music, run by Fareeq & his friends. The compilation also included bands such as Murkyway, Figureheadz, Private Whizz, Frangipanni & Alcentric among others.
By 2002, JR left the band & Alel was recruited by Dennis, who met in school years before. The band played a few gigs around KL since early 2002, sharing the stage with many up & coming acts such as Disagree, Love Me Butch, Seven Collar T-shirt & many others. Up to this point, X-cited Screamers is still looking for a bassist. For the live show, Ejoo who is playing for Nadia's Picture Show currently will be on the low end position of the band.

INFLUENCES: Though the band shares a common liking & respect to bands such as Nirvana, Deftones, Incubus, Hoobastank, Glassjaw, Pearl Jam & many others, each member personal influences take center stage in the writing process. Fareeq, being the vocalist, often choose melody over anything else, idolizing talents such as Daryl Palumbo (Glassjaw), Thom Yorke (Radiohead), Johnny Santos (Spineshank), Daniel Johns (Silverchair) to name few in search of the perfect vocal melody. Shaufiq is the only member whose influences is so diverse & unpredictable due to his "anything goes" character. But to date, he has shown considerable interest in Indonesian act such as Sheila On 7, Dewa, Melly Goeslow, Padi & others, but did mention that Abe Cunningham (Deftones) is his favourite drummer.
Dennis has a soft spot for the darker side of metal, digesting excess amount of music made by Cradle of Filth, Paradise Lost, Type O Negative & other goth metal/death metal bands. He also has a strong addiction to Indie Pop & Brit Rock act such as Nice Stupid Playground, Coldplay, The Cure, Manic Street Preachers, My Vitriol & the likes. Alel's influences are more guitars driven; Pantera being top of the list, the rest of his influences include Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Sepultura, Megadeth & a lot of 80's metal bands. He also listens to a lot of guitar hero records such as Joe Satriani & Eric Johnson, Blues (Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimi Hendrix & Kenny Wayne Shephard), Grunge (Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam), Modern Metal (Disturbed, Deftones, Sevendust), Modern Rock (Hoobastank, U2, Creed) to name a few. Basically, he plays anything that rocks.

SOUND: The music is a blend of a lot of musical genre & styles, due to the diverse musical influences of each band members. Fareeq acts as the main songwriter with the rest of the band assisting him with arranging & composing. Basically the music is always saturated with loud guitars, up beat drum pattern & rhythmic bass line mixed up with some rap & melodic vocal lines, which creates a new kind of groove unheard off before.
